Implementation of An Intelligent Hexapod Robot

This is 2014 final year student project.  It is successfully completed on May 2015.  All goals are achieved, click here to see video demo. Students final report is here.

The hexapod robot was designed by the students from the ground. The whole body was produced by 3D printing. The students solved the kinematics and gait problems for robot locomotion. An android app was implemented to control the robot to perform the locomotion via WiFi. The robot is capable to do video streaming on it's vision using the USB webcam. A speaker was on it to do speech synthesizing.   An ultra-sonic sensor was used by the robot to avoid obstacle.

In this project, students had to do embedded programming , smart phone app development, solving kinematics, implementing the gait algorithm  and 3D modeling/printing.

The team Presented their  project

They are the champion of CS FYP 2014 competition
